Other Site Characteristics

Der Verwall ist Bestandteil des Silvretta-Kristallins der Zentralalpen in Vorarlberg. Das Gebiet umfasst naturnahe bis natürliche Alpenflüsse und -bäche, naturnahe Gebirgswälder (subalpine Fichtenwälder, Lärchen-Zirbenwälder), ausgedehnte Zwergstrauchheiden und alpine Rasen sowie diverse Felslebensräume. Daneben große Alpgebiete sowie (ehemalige) Bergmähder.

4.2 Quality and importance

Große Vielzahl naturnaher und natürlicher Gebirgs-Biotoptypen, großer zusammenhängender Gebirgsraum mit vergleichsweise geringer Erschließung. Große Bedeutung für die Avifauna und andere Wildtiere des Gebirges sowie für die unterschiedlichen Moorlebensräume.
