Other Site Characteristics
| o Elément de liaison entre les massifs forestiers de la Thiérache et les forêts de Sivry-Rance dans une portion de paysage plus ouvert ; o Le site comprend notamment les Bois des Hayettes, de Macon, de Monceau Imbrechies, de Seloignes et de Saint-Rémy. |
4.2 Quality and importance
| o Grande entité forestière comprenant côte à côte des associations végétales typiques du domaine atlantique et du domaine ardennais (en zone continentale) et abritant des espèces forestières concernées par l'Annexe 1 de la Directive CEE 92/43 comme le Pic noir (Dryocopus martius) ou la Bondrée apivore (Pernis apivorus) ; o Site englobant également quelques très belles aulnaies rivulaires et mégaphorbiaies riveraines situées à la périphérie du massif forestier et remarquablement bien conservées ; o Présence d'étangs forestiers remarquables (notamment étang de la Fourchinée). |
