Other Site Characteristics

Le site de la vallée supérieure de l'Our s'étend de la frontière allemande à Andler jusqu'à Steinebrück, où l'Our passe sous le pont de l'autoroute et entre dans le site de la vallée inférieure de l'Our et ses affluents (BE33065). Outre la vallée principale au contexte agricole, le site est également constitué de deux affluents plus forestiers.

4.2 Quality and importance

La vallée de l'Our (3260) abrite une des dernières populations wallonnes de moule perlière et également une grande diversité d'autres espèces liées au cours d'eau dont le chabot, la lamproie de Planer, le martin-pêcheur et la mulette épaisse.Dans les milieux ouverts, on retrouve des prés de fauche submontagnards (6510) et des fragments de nardaies (6230*), ainsi que des milieux plus humides comme des mégaphorbiaies (6430), des bas-marais et des prairies humides. Les milieux forestiers sont constitués de la hêtraie à luzule blanche (9110), d'aulnaies rivulaires (91E0*) et de chênaies (9160, 9190). On y rencontre entre autres le pic noir.La vallée offre des territoires de chasse pour le milan royal, la bondrée apivore et la cigogne noire. La présence de la pie-grièche écorcheur et de la pie-grièche grise participent également à la richesse de ce site. Le grand-duc est une autre espèce dont la présence est tout à fait remarquable.
