Other Site Characteristics

o Site formé de deux entités correspondant à deux portions de la vallée, entre Ama et Jenneret, d'une part, et entre Néblon-le-Moulin et Ouffet, d'autre part ; o Site couvert par des milieux forestiers diversifiés sur sols calcaires schisteux, psammitiques et limoneux.

4.2 Quality and importance

Le site "Vallée et affluents du Néblon" est essentiellement forestier. On y retrouve notamment des forêts du métaclimax de la hêtraie subatlantique (9110, 9130, 9150) mais aussi des chênaies pédonculées (9160), des forêts de ravin et de pente (9180*) et des forêts alluviales (91E0*). Ces dernières forment des cordons rivulaires le long du Néblon. Ce cours d'eau (3260) est un habitat d'espèces pour le martin pêcheur d'Europe et la cigogne noire. Les habitats forestiers cités plus haut sont également des habitats d'espèces pour le pic noir, le pic mar et de divers chiroptères d'intérêt communautaire. Les milieux ouverts, bien que moins bien représentés, y sont pourtant d'une grande importance. En effet, on y retrouve des pelouses calcicoles (6210*) (lambeaux de pelouses mésophiles plus ou moins thermophiles en continuité avec les milieux analogues connus en Ourthe moyenne), des mégaphorbiaies (6430), celles-ci formant avec les forêts rivulaires un ensemble cohérent, ainsi que des milieux rocheux (8210) et des cavités (8310), habitats d'espèces pour les chiroptères dont il est question plus haut.
