Site correspondant au bassin de la Lesse entre Reisteigne et Rochefort.

4.2 Quality and importance

Le site présente d'importantes surfaces forestières, souvent installées sur les Tiennes, résultat de la colonisation d'anciennes pelouses calcaires ou de semis de pins noirs et sylvestres. D'autres forêt, de grand intérêt bioloqique, sont bien représentées : hêtraies calcicoles; érablières de ravins; aulnaies alluviales; chênaies pubescentes (parmi les stations les plus au nord). Les berges de la Lesse présentent plusieurs colonies d'Hirondelles de rivage et des terriers de Martin-pêcheur qui attestent la qualité du milieu. Ensemble majeur de pelouses calcaires riches en orchidées. Présence également de pelouses rupicoles de grand intérêt. Richesse botanique et entomologique remarquable.
