- PF: for the habitat types that can have a non-priority as well as a priority form (6210, 7130, 9430) enter "X" in the column PF to indicate the priority form.
- NP: in case that a habitat type no longer exists in the site enter: x (optional)
- Cover: decimal values can be entered
- Caves: for habitat types 8310, 8330 (caves) enter the number of caves if estimated surface is not available.
- Data quality: G = 'Good' (e.g. based on surveys); M = 'Moderate' (e.g. based on partial data with some extrapolation); P = 'Poor' (e.g. rough estimation)
3.2 Species referred to in Article 4 of Directive 2009/147/EC and listed in Annex II of Directive 92/43/EEC and site evaluation for them
- Group: A = Amphibians, B = Birds, F = Fish, I = Invertebrates, M = Mammals, P = Plants, R = Reptiles
- S: in case that the data on species are sensitive and therefore have to be blocked for any public access enter: yes
- NP: in case that a species is no longer present in the site enter: x (optional)
- Type: p = permanent, r = reproducing, c = concentration, w = wintering (for plant and non-migratory species use permanent)
- Unit: i = individuals, p = pairs or other units according to the Standard list of population units and codes in accordance with Article 12 and 17 reporting (see reference portal)
- Abundance categories (Cat.): C = common, R = rare, V = very rare, P = present - to fill if data are deficient (DD) or in addition to population size information
- Data quality: G = 'Good' (e.g. based on surveys); M = 'Moderate' (e.g. based on partial data with some extrapolation); P = 'Poor' (e.g. rough estimation); VP = 'Very poor' (use this category only, if not even a rough estimation of the population size can be made, in this case the fields for population size can remain empty, but the field "Abundance categories" has to be filled in)
3.3 Other important species of flora and fauna (optional)
- Group: A = Amphibians, B = Birds, F = Fish, Fu = Fungi, I = Invertebrates, L = Lichens, M = Mammals, P = Plants, R = Reptiles
- CODE: for Birds, Annex IV and V species the code as provided in the reference portal should be used in addition to the scientific name
- S: in case that the data on species are sensitive and therefore have to be blocked for any public access enter: yes
- NP: in case that a species is no longer present in the site enter: x (optional)
- Unit: i = individuals, p = pairs or other units according to the standard list of population units and codes in accordance with Article 12 and 17 reporting, (see reference portal)
- Cat.: Abundance categories: C = common, R = rare, V = very rare, P = present
- Motivation categories: IV, V: Annex Species (Habitats Directive), A: National Red List data; B: Endemics; C: International Conventions; D: other reasons

Other Site Characteristics
The singnificant areas occupied by forest monoculture are mainly of Pinus nigra, but also of Quercus rubra, Quercus suber, Robinia pseudoacacia, Castanea sativa, etc. |
4.2 Quality and importance
Vajen Svarzvast koridor. Goliam minus e lipsata na vrazka mejdu mnogo ot chastite mu.
Within the site significant areas of forest ecosystems are included. Forest monoculture is with acceptable coverage of 10.6 per cent. Excluding some insignificant coverage of shruby communities, the rest of the forestry fund is presented by by xerophile and mesophile broadleaved woods with quite variable dominants. Five habitats of conservation priority are presented within the site's borders, consisting somewhat 22.6% of the territory. The oriental beech forests cover 7.6 % and are characterized by their good representativity and relatively good conservation status. The Pannonian-Balkanic turkey oak-sessile oak forests are the best presented priority habitat in the site (13.1 %). They are with relatively good representativity, good to mediium preserved structure and functions and relatively good or acceptable perspectives if their current use remains unchaged. In some parts of the site (e.g. nearly Ticha Dam and also in Nesebar Forestry Department) in the past and nowadays being under strong pressure this type of forests are fragmented, sometimes with quite visible degradation processes, and even in places completely changed by secondary forests dominated by oriental hornbeam. Their recovery in these places is possible by forestry activities that will support the natural biocenotic evolution. Anyway, even there mosaic occurence of habitats of conservation priority is available, and they are mixed with other forests, thus being an important factor for the existence and conservation of rich biodiversity. The Pannonic woods with Quercus petraea and Carpinus betulus cover approximately 1.5% within the site; significant coverage they have in Smyadovo and Staro Oryahovo Forestry Departments. The eastern white oak forests are nearly 0.4% of the territory; most of them are in Nesebar Forestry Department. They form complexes with the Pannonian-Balkanic turkey oak-sessile oak forests and with the forests of oriental hornbeam, thus being of special interest, supporting the existence of rich animal and fungal diversity. The Moesian silver lime forests and the Seminatural dry grasslands (6210) cover insignificant areas. Most of the grasslands are however disturbed by agricultural activies. |
