- PF: for the habitat types that can have a non-priority as well as a priority form (6210, 7130, 9430) enter "X" in the column PF to indicate the priority form.
- NP: in case that a habitat type no longer exists in the site enter: x (optional)
- Cover: decimal values can be entered
- Caves: for habitat types 8310, 8330 (caves) enter the number of caves if estimated surface is not available.
- Data quality: G = 'Good' (e.g. based on surveys); M = 'Moderate' (e.g. based on partial data with some extrapolation); P = 'Poor' (e.g. rough estimation)
3.2 Species referred to in Article 4 of Directive 2009/147/EC and listed in Annex II of Directive 92/43/EEC and site evaluation for them
- Group: A = Amphibians, B = Birds, F = Fish, I = Invertebrates, M = Mammals, P = Plants, R = Reptiles
- S: in case that the data on species are sensitive and therefore have to be blocked for any public access enter: yes
- NP: in case that a species is no longer present in the site enter: x (optional)
- Type: p = permanent, r = reproducing, c = concentration, w = wintering (for plant and non-migratory species use permanent)
- Unit: i = individuals, p = pairs or other units according to the Standard list of population units and codes in accordance with Article 12 and 17 reporting (see reference portal)
- Abundance categories (Cat.): C = common, R = rare, V = very rare, P = present - to fill if data are deficient (DD) or in addition to population size information
- Data quality: G = 'Good' (e.g. based on surveys); M = 'Moderate' (e.g. based on partial data with some extrapolation); P = 'Poor' (e.g. rough estimation); VP = 'Very poor' (use this category only, if not even a rough estimation of the population size can be made, in this case the fields for population size can remain empty, but the field "Abundance categories" has to be filled in)
3.3 Other important species of flora and fauna (optional)
- Group: A = Amphibians, B = Birds, F = Fish, Fu = Fungi, I = Invertebrates, L = Lichens, M = Mammals, P = Plants, R = Reptiles
- CODE: for Birds, Annex IV and V species the code as provided in the reference portal should be used in addition to the scientific name
- S: in case that the data on species are sensitive and therefore have to be blocked for any public access enter: yes
- NP: in case that a species is no longer present in the site enter: x (optional)
- Unit: i = individuals, p = pairs or other units according to the standard list of population units and codes in accordance with Article 12 and 17 reporting, (see reference portal)
- Cat.: Abundance categories: C = common, R = rare, V = very rare, P = present

Other Site Characteristics
The total area of the site is 475.7 ha.The Danube riverside including the lower part of Timok River are strongly anthropogenic in their bigger part arable lands with almost not any natural tree vegetation or such of thin groups of 10 - 20. In most cases the described habitats have semi-natural character with marked participation of foreign species. Distinctive sign of the region are the big areas abandoned arable lands.Interest in the site present the available canals, old and drained micro-dam lakes, former rice fields etc. situated 5-10 km south and west of the Danube River.Habitat 3150 - Former rice field (system of canals) located 1-2 km west of Vidin. Clearly expressed muddy and rich of organic composition of the waters. The reservoirs are concomitant of big in area reed and rush fields. Non-drying water canals with relatively well preserved vegetation coverage. In the region of the habitat are found the following species - Lemmna trisula /20%/, Lemna minor /5%/, Scirpus sp, Salvinia natans /do 5%/, Nymphoides. In the riverside part of the reservoirs on the reed fields are also found Stachys sp., Galegia officinalis, Lycopus, Glycyrrhiza echinata, Typha latifolia, Phragmites australis, Typha angustifolia, Lysimachia punctata, Convolvulus sp., Sonchus sp., Lythrum salicaria, Plantago major. Except the area of the reservoirs, which is 0.5 sq. km there are also 0.9 sq.km riverside fields and zones of reed (60 %), wide-leaved (10 - 20 %) and thin-leaved rush (10 %), amorph (5 - 10 %), white willow. The habitat is found immediately close to mowing meadows and grasslands with relatively intensive grazing, which are found between Vidin and the villages Slana bara and Ruptzi.Habitat 3270 - Widow sastaw - Salix alba, Amorpha fruticosa. Main grass species of the habitat - Xanthium italicum/60%/, Veronica anagalis - aquatica, Chenopodium rubrum, Rumex sp., Althea officinalis, Typha latifolia, Scirpus sp., Carex sp. Influence of foreign and ruderal species especially Amorpha fruticosa.Other important habitats on the Palearctic classification system:Ponto-Pannonic riverbank dwarf sedge communities 22.351, Permanent eutrophic lakes, ponds and pools 22.13,Riverside lines of willow44.1, Riverside belts of vegetation53. |
4.2 Quality and importance
The site is the biggest one in the region of the Vidin rivers. Habitat type 3150 with clearly expressed deep water mirrors covered of riverside vegetation with plain high-grasses. It is distributed in the most northern part of Bregovo - Novo selo lowland 1 km away of Vidin. The depth of the separate reservoirs varies from 0.5 - 3.0 m, the width 2 - 40 m. The site is a system of canals feeding the former rice fields Orizishte. Rich ornithofauna. Similar habitat type in the region of the Vidin rivers is found only 4 km away east of Bregovo but with considerable smaller area of the reservoirs. Quite close to the site are very settlements including Vidin. On the territory of the site are found some isolated spots of 91E0 V presented mainly by white willow. The level of the habitat is maintained by underground waters included in the water volume of the water flows - Deleinska River and Topolovetz, which are mainly fed by the rain waters and the high waters are in the spring season. These rivers become underground ones after coming out of the loess valleys. |
