Other Site Characteristics

The site is characterized by considerable areas of calcareous terrains, build by Jurassic limestones. Ljubash Mountain hosts the single known locality of Lathyrus pancicii, which is globally critical endangered. The infrastructure is poorely developed. The anthropogenic pressure is on a very low level currently.

4.2 Quality and importance

The site represents beech forests of Cephalanthero-Fagion alliance. The dry calcareous grasslands are of high conservation value. Himantoglossum caprinum population is one of the best in the country.
