Other Site Characteristics

The SCI includes the middle course of the Vit River, its tributary and a small territory of the Vasilyovska Mountain. The river and riparian ecosystems are the most important here.

4.2 Quality and importance

The pSCI protects one of two remaining viable populations of land tortoises in the high parts of Danube hilly plane. The SCI is a stepping-stone biocorridor for fish species.
