Other Site Characteristics

Thå SCI includes part of the Plana Mountain and the adjacent river section of Iskar which is a steeping-stone biocorridor for rare fish species. These species have found refuge here from dams up and downstream. The most important habitats in Plana are the natural Scots pine forests at very low altitude. Beech and oak forests are also found here.

4.2 Quality and importance

The SCI protects isolated localities of habitat 91CA and a river that is an important stepping-stone biocorridor for fish species.
