Flachwassergebiet Pommersche Bucht, umfasst vollständig den deutschen Teil der Oderbank (FFH-LRT 1110) und des Adlergrundes (FFH- LRT 1170) mit herausragender ökologischer Funktion für Vögel.

4.2 Quality and importance

Wichtigstes Überwinterungs-, Rast-, Nahrungs- und Mausergebiet für Meeresenten und Taucherarten in der deutschen Ostsee. Eines der zehn wichtigsten Überwinterungsgebiete von internationaler Bedeutung für Vögel in der gesamten Ostsee. Herausrag. ökolog. Funkt. f.Schweinswale u. Fische: bedeutendste bekannte Konzentrat. v. Schweinsw. d. östl. Ostsee-Popul. dieser Art, wichtiges Laich-, Weide- und Aufwachsgeb. f. viele Fischarten, sehr große Biomasse d. Benthos bildet Nahrungsgrundl. f. Fische u. Vögel.
