Repräsentativer Ausschnitt einer reich strukturierten Kulturlandschaft auf kuppiger Endmoräne mit zahlreichen Kleingewässern und Buchenwaldresten.

Sehr gutes Nischenangebot für Vögel. Weitere Bedeutung für mehrere Arten des Anhang I Ackerbaulich geprägte Region mit (schon durch die frühere Gutswirtschaft begründet) großen Wirtschaftseinheiten. Prägend sind die zahlreichen Ackerhohlformen. Das Gebiet liegt im Gebiet der Bäbeliner Gabel, wo Wismar und Warnow-Lobus der Pommerschen Haupteisrandlage aneinanderstoßen.
