Das Ostufer des Ratzeburger Sees weist steil abfallende Hänge auf, die quellreiche Hang- und Schluchtwälder tragen. In der Talung des Mechower Grenzgrabens sind Niederungs- und Feuchtlebensräume wie extensive Grünländer zu finden.

6.3 Conservation measures (optional)

Die vorhandenen Lebensraumtyen sind zwingend durch Erhaltungsmaßnahmen zu erhalten. Darüber hinaus wird eine Verbesserung des Erhaltungszustandes für den LRT 3150 angestrebt. Hierfür werden entsprechende Entwicklungsmaßnahmen formuliert. Die vorhandenen Fischotterhabitate und die Habitate der Bauchige Windelschnecke sind dauerhaft zu erhalten.
