Other Site Characteristics

Ausgedehnter Teichkomplex mit gut ausgeprägter Verlandungs- und Teichbodenvegetation. Angrenzend Hochmoor-Degenerationsstadien (v. a. Pfeifengras-, Besenheide- und Moorheide-Stadien, auch Birken- und Birken-Kiefern-Moorwald).

4.2 Quality and importance

Einer der größten Teichkomplexe in Niedersachsen, u. a. mit Teichbodengesellschaften mesotropher und eutropher Gewässer. Ausgedehntes Hochmoorgebiet u. a. mit Moorwald und z. T. gut ausgeprägten Moorheidestadien. Vorkommen von FFH-Arten. Einer der bedeutendsten Fischotter-Lebensräume in Niedersachsen.
