Reich gegliederter Wechsel artenreicher Feuchtwiesen mit Staudensäumen und Laubwäldern frischer bis nasser Standorte sowie von Torfstichgewässern und Übergangsmooren. Pfeifengraswiesen im Komplex mit einer Binnensalzstelle auf kalkreichem Niedermoor.

Repräsentative und kohärenzsichernde, z.T. für den Erhalt charakteristischer Artenspektren und Einzelarten besonders bedeutsame Vorkommen von LRT und Arten der Anhänge I und II der FFH RL, insbesondere der Naß- und Feuchtwiesen. Reicher geomorphologischer Formenschatz im Randbereich eines großen Schmelzwassertales (Toteisbildungen, kleine Schmelzwasserrinnen).
