Ausgedehntes Heidegebiet auf ehemaligem Truppenübungsplatz. Daneben kommen naturnahe Wälder, junge Sukzessionsgehölze, einige Kleingewässer sowie extensiv genutztes Grünland vor.

(C6). Westlich von Mügeln befindet sich eine frühneuzeitliche Glashütte. Saalekaltzeitliche glazifluviatile Sedimente.
