Other Site Characteristics

Der weitgehend unzerschnittene großflächige Waldkomplex am Nordrand des Sauerlandes zeichnet sich durch einen hohen Anteil alter Eichen- und Buchenmischwälder aus. Diese werden durch weitgehend naturnahe Fließgewässersysteme untergegliedert. Im Gebiet kommen bedeutsame Vorkommen folgender weiterer Brutvogelarten vor: Scolopax rusticola (Waldschnepfe) Im Gebiet kommen folgende FFH-Lebensraumtypen vor: 9160, 3260, 9110, 9130, 91D0, 91E0, 6510

4.2 Quality and importance

Vorrangig zu schützen sind die großen Sternmieren-Eichen-Hainbuchenwälder und Hainsimsen-Buchenwälder. Wertbestimmend sind das Vorkommen des Mittelspechtes, Schwarzstorchs, Schwarzspechtes, Rotmilans, Wespenbussards und des Grauspechtes.
