Other Site Characteristics

Salzwiesen mit charakteristischer Vegetationsdifferenzierung. Feuchte Hochstaudenfluren und Schilfröhrichte am Rand eines eutrophen Sees.

4.2 Quality and importance

Sehr gute Ausprägung der Salzwiesen. Lebensraum schilfbewohnender Vogelarten sowie hoch spezialisierter Pflanzen und Insekten. Im Umfeld des Süßen Sees ist überwiegend Landwirtschaft und Obstbau, sehr dichte Besiedlung vom Noelithikum bis Mittelalter. Aufsteigende Wässer des Zechsteinsalinars an der Nordflanke des Hornburger Sattels.
