Other Site Characteristics

Das Gebiet umfaßt wertvolle Trocken- und Halbtrockenrasen und verschiedene naturnahe, wärmeliebende Waldgesellschaften. 6210 z.T. prioritär.

4.2 Quality and importance

Vielfältige, gut ausgeprägte, besonders orchideenreiche Trocken- und Halbtrockenrasen in engem Komplex mit naturnahen mesophilen Laubwaldbeständen. Lebensraum zahlreicher wärmeliebender, gefährdeter Pflanzen- und Insektenarten. Die Gegend südwestlich von Freyburg ist archäologisch unerforscht. Sand- und Schluffsteine des Mittleren Buntsandsteins im Bereich der Merseburger Scholle.
