Other Site Characteristics

Das Tal der Eder bei Erndtebrück liegt an der südöstlichen Abdachung des Rothaarkamms. Die Eder durchfließt mit weiten Mäanderbögen zwischen Erndtebrück und Beddelhausen ein flaches, von Bergen gesäumtes Sohlental. Ergänzung zu 3.3.: Im Gebiet gibt es bedeutsame Vorkommen folgender Vogelarten: Braunkehlchen, Eisvogel, Schwarzstorch

4.2 Quality and importance

Neben den prioritär zu schützenden Borstgrasrasen, Schluchtwäldern und dem Auenwäldchen sind vor allem die naturnahen Fließgewässer und Uferhochstaudensäume von besondere Bedeutung. Im Gebiet befindet sich ein erhaltener Mühlengraben, welcher von der vorindustriellen Geschichte des Gebietes zeugt. Klippen und Hangschutt an dem Ederprallhang 'Haushelle'
