Das Gebiet wird von großflächigen Offenlandbiotopen aus extensiv genutzten Magerweiden, mageren Glatthaferwiesen, Borstgrasrasen sowie Calluna- und Besenginsterheiden eingenommen. Teilbereiche unterliegen noch einer sporadischen militärischen Nutzung. Ergänzung zu 3.3.: Im Gebiet gibt es bedeutsame Vorkommen folgender Vogelarten: Heidelerche
