Steilhangwälder mit eingestreuten Wiesenflächen unterschiedlicher Feuchte- und Trophiegrade sowie Nieder- und Zwischenmoorbereichen, Wiesengesellschaften mit zahlreichen vom Aussterben bedrohten und stark gefährdeten Pflanzen

Pfeifengraswiesen auf kalkreichem Standort, artenreiche Avifauna Traditionelle Steinrückenlandschaft des Osterzgebirges mit über Jahrhunderte gewachsenen Lesesteinanhäufungen, eines der ältesten u. bedeutendsten NSG in SN Das Gebiet war bis Ende der 60er Jahre Bestandteil des letzten Vorkommensgebietes des Ziesels (Citellus citellus) in Deutschland
