In Baden-Württemberg liegt ein Teil des international bedeutenden Feuchtgebietes - vor allem wichtig für Zugvögel. In der vom Flüsschen 'Nau' durchströmten, weiträumigen Wiesenlandschaft finden sich Überreste ehemals ausgedehnter Moore.

4.2 Quality and importance

Die teils noch artenreichen Mähwiesen- und Moorpflanzengesellschaften sind Hauptverbreitungsgebiet für zahreiche seltene Feuchtgebietstierarten im Naturraum. Ehemaliges Torfabbau- und Allmendgebiet, nach der Entwässerung teils ackerbaulich sehr intensiv genutzt. Ausgedehntes Niedermoor.
