Freiburger Mooswälder mit ausgedehnten, meist feuchten Wäldern, die von kleinen Bächen durchzogen werden, Baggerseen, angrenzende Acker- und Wiesengebiete, Wasserläufe sowie zwei weitere Teilflächen bei Gottenheim (Teich) und Wasenweiler (Wald).

4.2 Quality and importance

Vorkommen seltener Tier- und Pflanzenarten, Verbreitungsschwerpunkt Coanagrion mercuriale, Fledermausarten, großlächige, strukturreiche Wälder mit seltenen Pflanzenarten. Teilfläche: ehemaliges Freiburger Rieselfeld mit Gräben und Dämmen (Verrieselung der Abwässer bis 1985), historische Waldnutzung (z.B. Mittelwald), ehemalige Wiesenwässerungskanäle Teilfläche: lössüberdeckter Kalkrücken des 'Honigbucks' (Bruchscholle)
