Other Site Characteristics

Odense Å er med sit udspring ved Arreskov sø og udløb i Odense fjord Fyns største vandløb. Området er forøget i udstrækning i 2011.

4.2 Quality and importance

Der er gennem de sidste år gjort meget for at bedre vandkvaliteten og forholdene for faunapassage i de fynske vandløb. Det har medført, at Odense Å på store dele af sit løb nu opfylder de målsatte krav om åen som gyde og opvækssted for Ørreder (Salmon sp.). Der er knyttet store sportsfiskerinteresser til åen, der har et rigt fiskeliv. Der findes mange steder langs åens løb, hvor der er tilknyttet store rekreative områder, og åen benyttes på de mest vandrige dele til sejlads.
