Other Site Characteristics

Tervikuna metsamaale jääv Hüti loodusala asub Saaremaal. Hüti loodusala kaitse alla võtmise eelduseks on alale eesmärgiks seatud väärtuste ohustatus. Looduslikud metsa elupaigatüübid vanad loodusmetsad (9010*) ning soostuvad ja soo-lehtmetsad (9080*) on ohustatutena lisatud loodusdirektiivi I lisasse ning märgitud seal esmatähtsate elupaikadena, mille kaitse tagamises on Euroopa Liidul ja selle liikmesriikidel eriline vastutus.

4.2 Quality and importance

Hüti loodusalal kaitstavad elupaigatüübid on liigirikkad madalsood (7230), vanad loodusmetsad (*9010), rohunditerikkad kuusikud (9050) ning soostuvad ja soo-lehtmetsad (*9080). Kaitstavad elupaigatüübid hõlmavad kokku 21,1 ha ehk 67,8% loodusala pindalast (31,1 ha), sh loodusmetsad (9010*) 15,0 ha (48,2%), soostuvad ja soo-lehtmetsad (9080*) 3,9 ha (12,5%), kuusikud (9050) 1,9 ha (6,1%) ning liigirikkad madalsood (7230) 0,3 ha (1,0%). Ülejäänud alal on potentsiaalsed elupaigad, mis on oluliseks puhvriks elupaigatüüpidele.
