Other Site Characteristics

Päite loodusala kõige esinduslikum väärtus on Põhja-Eesti klint, mis on maailmas ainus nii ulatuslik, erakordselt rikkaliku ja hästi säilinud faunat sisaldavate Kambriumi ja Ordoviitsiumi kivimite paljandas. Kõige paremini on klint säilinud just Saka–Ontika–Toila–Sillamäe–Utria kohal, kus asub ka Päite loodusala. Kaitsealustest liikidest leidub alal mets-kuukressi ning künnapuud.

4.2 Quality and importance

Päite loodusalal esinevad elupaigatüübid on merele avatud pankrannad (1230) ning rusukallete ja jäärakute metsad (pangametsad – *9180). Nii pankranna kui ka pangametsa looduskaitseline seisund ja esinduslikkus on väga hea.
