ZEPA situada al noreste de la provincia de Caceres, en la comarca de Campo Arañuelo, en el interior de la población de Saucedilla. En la iglesia parroquial de San Juan Bautista (sigl. XVI) alberga una colonia de 17 parejas reproductoras de cernícalo primilla (Falco naumanni), que aprovechan las oquedades, sobre todo los mechinales más altos, de los muros del gran edificio eclesial como hábitat para nidificar y reproducirse. La colonia está presente de febrero a mediados de julio, fecha en que los primillas inician su migración al continente africano, donde pasan el invierno.

4.2 Quality and importance

En este espacio se encuentran dos taxones del Anexo I de la Directiva aves, Falco naumanni, en concentraciones importantes de reproducción y la Ciconia ciconia. Además hay datos de una especie migradora como Apus apus y otras especies de interes como Tyto alba, Columba livia, Sturnus unicolor y Corvus monedula.
