ZEPA situada en la comarca de Cáceres, entre los municipios de Cáceres, Aldea de Cano y Casas de Don Antonio. Se trata de un humedal artificial constituido por un pequeño embalse construido sobre el arroyo de la Zafra, siendo un punto de concentración de aves acuáticas, en el que destacan las concentraciones invernales de grulla o las citas esporádicas de porrón pardo.

4.2 Quality and importance

Dentro de la fauna, está presente un reptil incluido en el Anexo II de esta Directiva, el galápago leproso, y un total de 7 especies de aves incluidas en el Anexo I de la Directiva Aves, entre las que destacan las concentraciones invernales de grulla y la presencia puntual de porrón pardo. Además está presente una amplia comunidad de aves acuáticas, principalmente durente la invernada.
