Other Site Characteristics

Zona húmeda litoral, vinculada a un conjunto de marjales y áreas inundadas próximas, y que a pesar de ubicarse en un contexto densamente antropizado, conserva hábitats y especies de especial relevancia.

4.2 Quality and importance

Alberga poblaciones nidificantes de 15 especies de aves acuáticas incluidas del Anexo I, e invernan de forma regular hasta 7 especies del mismo anexo. Presenta importancia regional para las anátidas amenazadas Malvasía Cabeciblanca y Cerceta Pardilla, con el 16,4 y 9,3% de los efectivos totales de la Comunidad Valenciana. Los rangos de las poblaciones de aves reflejadas en el apartado 3.2 muestran los contingentes mínimos y máximos registrados en el periodo 2003-2008, elaborados a partir de censos oficiales.
