Other Site Characteristics

Los medios ribereños incluyen la asociación Valerio pyrenaicae-Alnetum glutinosae, mientras que los hábitat marinos albergan las asociaciones: Zosteretum marinae; Zosteretum noltii; Juncion maritimi; Sarcocornienion perennis.

4.2 Quality and importance

Ría cantábrica con importantes superficies intermareales fango-arenosas que albergan 5.000 aves acuáticas durante el período invernal. Río salmonero bien conservado. Se han descubierto recientemente unas buenas poblaciones de Margaritífera margaritífera de gran tamaño, lo que es indicativo de su longevidad.
