Las características principales del lugar se encuentran definidas por la clases de hábitat anteriores.

4.2 Quality and importance

Bosque caducifolio y esclerófilo de extensión moderada que se encuentra en la zona montañosa del suroeste de Lugo, en las estribaciones de la Cordilllera Cantábrica. Destaca en la zona un soto de castaños (Castanea sativa), rodeado por bosque caducifolio autóctono (Quercus robur, Betula celtiberica y Acer pseudoplatanus). También se localizan en este lugar, encinares de alto valor biogeográfico.
