Las características principales del lugar se encuentran definidas por la clases de hábitat anteriores.

4.2 Quality and importance

Profundo cañón originado por el río Sil a lo largo de más de 15 km, con desniveles que alcanzan entre 300 y 500 m. Se caracteriza por presentar laderas aterrazadas donde se cultiva la vid. Las aguas del río Sil se encuentran embalsadas a lo largo de todo el cañón.
