Other Site Characteristics

A partir de ciertos niveles se encuentran formaciones vegetales hidromorfas de extraordinario interés botánico: Genisto berberideae-ericetum tetralicis, Gentiano pneumonanthe-ericetum mackaianae; Erico mackaianae-sphanetum papillosi.

4.2 Quality and importance

Las turberas de cobertor situadas en este lugar pueden considerarse como ecosistemas hídricos relictos localizados en escasos enclaves de las Sierras Septentrionales Galaico-Asturianas. La composición florística de estas turberas se encuentra enriquecida con la presencia de elementos de carácter endémico. Presencia de lepidópteros (Erebia triaria pargapondalense, Erebia epiphron xistralensis) considerados como reliquias glaciares endémicas.
