Other Site Characteristics

Formaciones herbosas de Nardus, brezales secos y pastos pioneros sobre superficie rocosa. Prados ibéricos silíceos de Festuca indigesta. Robledales de Quercus robur y pyrenaica. Pinares de Pinus sylvestris. En el extremo oriental de la LIC encontramos las Gargantas del río Bibei, con fuertes pendientes,viñedos aterrazados, encinas y olivares que denotan un enclave de marcada influencia mediterránea.

4.2 Quality and importance

Zona de alto interés botánico que en la actualidad se recupera de los efectos de un incendio en 1985; presenta intrusiones de especies mediterráneas y amplias zonas de regeneración natural del bosque autóctono (Parque Natural do Invernadeiro). Poblaciones estables de Lobo (Canis lupus). No existe ningun núcleo habitado en la zona central de O Invernadeiro- Serra de Queixa (5000 Has). Muy buena representación del hábitat 6230 (Formaciones herbosas con Nardus) conteniendo el 97% de lo existente en Galicia-atl, lo que representa el 90% de lo existente en la región atlántica. También es destacable la presencia de prados ibéricos silíceos de Festuca indigesta (6160).
