Zona de alta y media montaña cantabrica con importante representación de bosques caducifolios y pastizales de alta montaña.Importante presencia de sistemas silvopastorales en regimen extensivo.

4.2 Quality and importance

Constituye el límite de distribución del oso pardo en Cantabria y en la Cordillera Cantabrica.Muy buena representación de ecosistemas forestales.Presencia de 26 hábitat de la Directiva siendo prioritarios 5 de ellos.Presncia de 19 taxones de fauna de la directiva siendo 2 de ellos prioritarios.
