Espacio fluvial situado en el tramo alto del Río Cinca, en el Valle de Pineta, entre el Parador Nacional y el Plan, cubriendo los materiales cuaternarios aluviales presentes en el fondo del mencionado valle.

Tramo de río de alta montaña con vegetación de ribera bien conservada o parcialmente modificada por la actividad ganadera. La fauna acuícola corresponde a la categoría de salmónidos, con poblaciones bien estructuradas de Salmo trutta.
