Other Site Characteristics

Zona de la rama castellana de la Cordillera Ibérica, con materiales paleozoicos, pizarras y cuarcitas con relieves de fuerte componente estructural, muy plegado y fracturado, con diques de cuarzo. Modelado posteriormente por barrancos de incisión lineal y acumulaciones coluviales como principales procesos geomorfológicos activos.

4.2 Quality and importance

Enclave de especial interés para la conservación de Centaurea pinnata, taxón prioritario en la Directiva 92/43/CEE. Límite meridional de su corología conocida, recogiendo la variabilidad del complejo reproductivo con Centaurrea pinae.
