Other Site Characteristics

Localizado en plena Alcarria, este espacio se conforma por las riberas del río Tajuña en su tramo medio, así como su entorno próximo. El río Tajuña crea profundos y estrechos valle entre los páramos calizos, hasta desembocar en el río Jarama (Madrid).

4.2 Quality and importance

La importancia de este espacio radica en los tramos discontinuos de bosque galería de alamedas de álamo blanco y saucedas con relativo buen estado de conservación, acompañados de una orla espinosa de arbustos riparios de interés. Asimismo, por las implicaciones que recaen sobre este espacio, es de destacar la existancia de campos de cultivo de regadío, así como plantaciones de choperas en las llanuras de inundación de este río.
