Other Site Characteristics
| Espacio constituido por tres entornos diferenciados:
- Por un lado, la sierra de Montserrtat constituye una unidad de relieve limpiamente definida entre las tierras planas de las depresiones pre-litoral y central. Macizo constituido por rocas de origen sedimentario, principalmente conglomerados, de edad eocénica con espectaculares y característicos relieves -relieves montserratinos-El paisaje predominante al macizo es el de carácter mediterráneo, enriquecido en algunas áreas por comunidades submediterráneas de significación especial. Las grandes superficies de afloramientos rocosos permiten el desarrollo de una vegetación rupícola rica y singular. En esta zona predomina la fauna mediterránea enriquecida con importantes introgresiones centroeuropeas o de otras más meridionales.
- Roques Blanques es un pequeño espacio natural que constituye una prolongación hacia poniente del macizo de Montserrat. Está formado por un valle estrecho y cerrado, rodeado por las montañas del Bruc y de la Fembra Morta, constituida básicamente por materiales paleozoicos. El paisaje de Roques Blanques está formado por un mosaico complejo de unidades de vegetación, algunas de ellas de especial interés por sus valores naturales -encinares, matorral silicícola de estepas y brezales, pinares, saucedas, etc. |

| Los límites de este espacio han sido trazados de acuerdo con la cartografía topográfica y planimétrica de referencia, a escala 1:50.000, del Instituto Cartográfico de Catalunya, que es el instituto cartográfico oficial y competente de la Generalitat de Catalunya.
