Other Site Characteristics

El espacio comprende buena parte de los valles de cabecera del río Anoia, desde Capellades y els Hostalets de Pierola hasta Vilafranca. Está constituido por una serie de pequeños valles, encajados por colinas y otras elevaciones orográficas, formadas tanto por elementos calcáreos como silícicos. Se trata de un espacio importante para la nidificación y campeo del águila perdicera. Además, constituye una buena muestra de las comunidades vegetales mediterráneas, con mezcla de áreas boscosas de pino blanco con robles, matorrales, alamedas y saucedas y zonas de cultivo.

4.2 Quality and importance

Se trata de un espacio propuesto, de forma prioritaria, por ser una importante zona de nidificación y campeo del águila perdicera. Además constituye una buena muestra del ambiente mediterráneo propio con mezcla de áreas boscosas con matorrales y zonas de cultivo.

Los límites de este espacio han sido trazados de acuerdo con la cartografía topográfica y planimétrica de referencia, a escala 1:50.000, del Instituto Cartográfico de Catalunya, que es el instituto cartográfico oficial y competente de la Generalitat de Catalunya.
