Zona marina que alberga praderas de Posidonia oceanica en estado remarcable de conservación.

4.2 Quality and importance

Zona marina que alberga un gran arrecife-barrera de Posidonia de un interés excepcional. También alberga regularmente poblaciones migratorias e invernantes de seis especies de aves incluidas en el Anexo I de la Directiva 79/409/CEE. La zona es utilizada como zona de alimentación por la Gaviota de Audouin, Cormorán Moñudo, Pardela mediterránea, Pardela Balear, Paíño Europeo y Charrán Patinegro. Los rangos de las poblaciones de aves reflejadas en el apartado 3.2 muestran los contingentes mínimos y máximos registrados en el periodo 2003-2008, elaborados a partir de censos oficiales.
