Vegetación y ambientes característicos del semiárido alicantino, con una buena representación de flora gipsícola. Contiene excelentes representaciones de los hábitats "fruticedas y arboledas de Juniperus" y "arbustedas, tarayares y espinares de ríos, arroyos, ramblas y lagunas". Muy importante para la cría de rapaces, principalmente águila perdicera.
