4.2 Quality and importance
| Zona de montaña de gran valor ambiental que destaca por su singularidad geológica, al constituir un enclave silíceo en el conjunto mayoritariamente calizo de las sierras valencianas. Por esta razón, alberga el alcornocal más extenso de la Comunitat Valenciana, así como todo el cortejo de formaciones asociadas al mismo, en las cuales se presentan diversas especies endémicas de gran interés. Incluye además dos refugios importantes para murciélagos, la Cova de l'Onder y la Cova de l'Ereta. Así mismo, se ha detectado en la sierra la mayor densidad de águila perdicera de todo el territorio valenciano. |
