4.2 Quality and importance

Sierra prelitoral que constituye una de las últimas estribaciones valencianas del sistema ibérico antes de alcanzar la costa. Junto con la vecina Serra d'Espadà, alberga la mayor extensión de sustratos silíceos de la Comunitat Valenciana, lo que le confiere una elevada diversidad de hábitats forestales y de matorral de marcada originalidad en el contexto valenciano. Resulta además de interés para las rapaces y para diversas especies de quirópteros presentes en algunas de las cavidades existentes en la zona.
