Other Site Characteristics

Korpilahdella sijaitsevat Särkijärven ja Myllyvuoren vanhojen metsien kohteet muodostavat Särkijärven alueen.Alueelle ovat tyypillisiä jyrkähköt mäet ja niiden väliin jäävät notkelmat, jotka usein ovat soistuneita ja joiden pohjalla virtaa puro. Särkijärven ympäristössä on useita pienehköjä lampia ja järviä, tummavetisiä ja osittain suorantaisia. Alueen metsät ovat havupuuvaltaisia, kuivemmilla paikoillapuolukkatyyppiä, alavammilla kohdilla mustikkatyyppiä, osittain lehtomaista kangasta. Paikoin puustossa on myös vanhoja lehtipuita, haapaa ja koivua.

4.2 Quality and importance

Alue muodostuu kahdesta erillisestä vanhan metsän alueesta. Särkijärvelle luonteenomaisia ovat havupuuvaltaiset vanhat metsät, joissa on runsaasti lehtipuuta. Alueella on luonnontilaisia suojuotteja, lampia ja puro, jonka varrella on luhtaista ruoho- ja heinäkorpea. Myös Myllyvuoren alueella on puro, metsät ovat havupuuvaltaisia mäkimetsiä. Koko alueella on merkitystä mm. uhanalaisten lajien suojelulle. Alueen muodostavat kohteet ovat pienialaisia ja niiden ulkopuolella tehtävät metsätaloustoimet tulisi suunnitella niin, että reunavyöhyke ei olisi jyrkkä. Tiestö on alueella tiheä, samoin retkeilypolkuverkosto. Särkijärven rannassa on laavu. Suojelutavoitteen määrittely: Kaikki tietolomakkeen taulukoissa 3.1 ja 3.2 mainitut luontotyypit ja lajit kuuluvat alueen suojeluperusteisiin ja kaikkien niiden suojelutavoitteena on vähintäänkin alueen merkityksen säilyttäminen osana verkostoa. Lisäksi alueen suojelussa ja hoidossa painotetaan seuraavia tavoitteita: • alueella vallitseva luontotyyppien ja lajien sekä niiden elinympäristöjen tila säilytetään turvaamalla luonnon omien prosessien mukainen kehitys, • luontotyypin tai lajin elinympäristön laatua tai lajin populaation elinvoimaisuutta parannetaan ennallistamis- ja hoitotoimepitein • alueella vallitseva luontotyyppien ja lajien sekä niiden elinympäristöjen tila säilytetään alueen käyttöä ojaamalla
