Other Site Characteristics

La Vallée du Loing est constituée de milieux naturels diversifiés tels que des bras morts, prairies humides, boisements inondables. Le Lunain est caractérisé par la présence de nombreuses résurgences dans sa partie amont, à l'origine de la richesse de la faune aquatique. Le site peut être menacé par l'artificialisation des berges, le curage et de recalibrage du lit mineur. Des pollutions accidentelles peuvent aussi constituer une menace.

4.2 Quality and importance

Le Loing et le Lunain constituent deux vallées de qualité remarquable pour la région Ile-de-France ; ces cours d'eau accueillent des populations piscicoles diversifiées dont le Chabot, la Lamproie de Planer, la Loche de Rivière et la Bouvière. Le site comprend aussi ponctuellement des habitats d'intérêt communautaire.
