Gites souterrains à chauves-souris constitués par d'anciens ouvrages militaires (poudrières, anciens forts). Certains sites sont protégés depuis quelques années. Mais il existe toujours un dérangement sur les sites non fermés par une grille, notamment par les visites organisées des forts.

4.2 Quality and importance

Les ouvrages militaires, désaffectés de la région de Langres, constituent des refuges importants pour les chauves-souris qui y forment ici la plus grande population hivernante du département de la Haute-Marne. L'importance de cette population fait de ces gîtes un site d'importance nationale.
