Ensemble de deux vallons forestiers représentatifs et exemplaires de la Thiérache argilo-calcaire et de la haute vallée de l'Oise, surtout remarquables par les galeries forestières hygrophiles rivulaires, les chênaies pédonculées-charmaies édaphiques à Nivéole de printemps, à cortège floristique médio-européen et submontagnard, les layons méso-eutrophes hygroclines et acidiclines. Pas d'action, à ce jour, qui soit identifiée comme suceptible de porter atteinte aux habitats identifiés d'intéret communautaire.

4.2 Quality and importance

Bien qu'encore imparfaitement connus, les intérêts spécifiques sont importants et marqués par la continentalité : -floristique : flore médioeuropéenne et montagnarde mésophile à hygrophile des sources, ruisselets et colluvions de bas de pente, limites d'aire occidentale (Leucojum vernum), 3 espèces protégées, plusieurs plantes menacées -invertébrés des ruisselets vifs -ornithologique : avifaune remarquable et diversifiée, avifaune forestière nicheuse notamment rapaces, plusieurs oiseaux menacés au niveau national -mammalogique : 2 chauve-souris menacées au plan national.
