Other Site Characteristics

Site centré sur la Réserve Naturelle de Grand Pierre et Vitain comprenant des formations calcicoles et des stations de fonds de vallée sur calcaire (forêt alluviale, marais alcalin, roselière...). Des actions d'entretien ont d'ores et déjà cours dans la réserve ainsi que des mesures agri-environnementales appliquées ça et là dans la vallée. Néanmoins, une approche plus large serait nécessaire car la mosaïque des milieux de vallée tend à se simplifier et beaucoup de pelouses et de coteaux ne bénéficient plus de pâturage.

4.2 Quality and importance

La vallée de la Cisse rassemble : - des pelouses, fourrés et boisements calcicoles - des marais sur sol basique - une rivière, alimentée par la nappe de Beauce, eutrophe avec une végétation flottante et immergée remarquable. Une dizaine d'espèces végétales protégées à l'échelon régional ou national sont observées dont l'Euphraise de Jaubert (endémique des plaines), la Pulsatille, la Scille d'automne, l'Orchis brûlé, la Fougère des marais... Une quinzaine d'espèces d'orchidées sont recensées. L'intérêt entomologique est très fort, également, avec la présence d'espèces à affinités méridionales : Mante religieuse, Grillon d'Italie, Coliade de l'Hippocrépide et Argus bleu céleste. Cet espace possède, par ailleurs, une très haute valeur paysagère par ses paysages "caussenards" isolés au milieu de la Beauce.
